| Humidity is stupid. Stupid! |
This morning's run was neither a win nor a loss. I had a migraine from yesterday and my legs were
still a little sore. I still set out to run Week 4, Day 2 on the C25K app knowing that I struggled with it yesterday. I was hoping that the run would kill my headache -- but it didn't. I did my best on my morning run, but I just couldn't do it. I'll try again tomorrow. Hopefully, tomorrow's humidity will be less stupid than this morning's humidity. It was 73 degrees already with 95% humidity (look at my frizzy hair). After my run it was time to head in to work for the first of five teacher workdays.
The only good thing the workday was useful for was getting in my steps for the day! I had about 4,000+ steps today from my two mile run this morning, but as I am sitting down to write this post, I have over 12,000 steps with about two hours left until bedtime. Last year, on the first Monday after the last day of school I had only 5,254 steps which also included a two mile run. Hopefully I can keep my steps up this whole week!

| Small spoon for size! |
After work I had to cook and prepare food that I didn't do over the weekend. I went grocery shopping later than I usually do and therefore I got a later start to my cooking/food prep. All I did yesterday was wash grapes. Lazy. Today when I got home I made a
Greek pasta salad for lunches this week (I left out the added sugar, the bell peppers and the olives--yuck!), and I chopped these five
massive carrots that I got at the Cedar Point Open Air Market on Sunday. "Holy veggie, Batman!" And, only $2 for all five! They chopped up nicely and I can't wait to have them this week with my
carrot and pineapple smoothies (this week I am adding some plain Greek yogurt to the smoothies to thicken them up). Yummmm! Since I didn't do any cooking this weekend I will be making either
eggplant patties tomorrow for a few dinners, or
Summer Vegetable Tian with yellow squash from a co-worker's garden and fresh grated Parmesan instead of "Italian blend cheese." Maybe, towards the weekend I will have breakfast for dinner and make some yummy
Pear Pancakes with yogurt and honey!
Tomorrow is the End Of The Year Potluck luncheon at school, so surely a run in the morning and the gym for a good workout after work!
Sorry you started your week with a migraine. Too bad the run didn't help it, like a stress release. You have stupid humidity, we have stupid excessive heat this week. Wednesday, 115°, Thursday 117°, and Friday 116°. With our lack of humidity, our 109° right now feels like 105° (like that matters). The Summer Solstice run on Friday evening ought to be fun. Maybe they'll collect the supplies and send everyone home. That. Is. Not. Healthy. We'll see. I'll probably still run my short route Friday morning when it's cooler just in case it is called off for Friday at 1900.
